Our story

Classes Commencement

Public general classes are conducted on an ongoing basis. We strictly adhere to a maximum class size of 25 participants per session. This is in the interest of safety and to ensure optimum participant to instructor attention. Given this, prospective participants are advised to sign-up early or be put on a waiting list.

Age

We strictly adhere to only accepting participants with a minimum age of 4, or have started / will be starting Reception (or its equivalent) education during the calendar year. This is in the interest of safety and to ensure that participants are able to keep up with the technical nature of our classes.

Fitness

New participants need not have a high level of fitness, but are required to be fit for light- to moderate-intensity exercise. When in doubt, we recommend an assessment by a qualified medical professional.

Participant Profile

We do not discriminate upon a participant's background or experience, as long as they meet the above-mentioned criteria and come with the intention to learn and contribute to the personal development of themselves and others. Participants who do not embody our participant profile or the values of the Club and our accrediting body, NIKO, will be asked to discontinue to their practice with us without compensation. This is in the interest of safety and to avoid depriving others from learning.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Participants are not required to immediately purchase PPE upon starting their practice. However, they will eventually require them for sparring (kumite) practice / Grading especially in the Intermediate Program and due to Covid 19 regulations.

The required PPE are: -

Head Gear

Chest Protector (for females)

Open-finger Gloves (4oz-7oz)

Groin Protector

Shin-In-step Protector
